If your item has been damaged in shipment we will repair or replace that item at no cost to you. Please contact the salesperson who worked with you at The Lighting Corner by telephone or e-mail within 48 hours to report the problem and we will discuss the most efficient and convenient method of resolution.

Glass breaking in transit does happen from time to time. Please contact the salesperson who worked with you at The Lighting Corner by telephone or e-mail within 48 hours of receipt and we will order a replacement glass at no charge to you. If glass is broken during installation, there will be a fee to replace the glass.


Given our priority with customer service, you can bet that we check and double check all items before they are picked up or delivered. In the unlikely event that you accidentally received the wrong item, please contact the salesperson who worked with you at The Lighting Corner by telephone or e-mail within 48 hours of receipt to report the error and we will order the correct item for you as soon as possible.


The Lighting Corner will honor all available manufacturer warranties still in effect covering manufacturer defects. We will repair or replace the defective item (except light bulbs) for one year from the date of purchase. Some vendors and specific products have longer warranties, and we will honor those depending upon the manufacturer’s specifications. Please ask your sales person for more details. Manufacturers light bulbs that are included with a fixture are not warranted, they are considered a “free gift” with the fixture and may not last very long.

Our sincere goal is to provide an enjoyable shopping experience that encourages you to shop with us for years to come. On the occasion that you receive a product that you just don’t like or that doesn’t match your decor, our experienced customer service staff is just a phone call away and will guide you through our easy return policy.


If you would like to return an item that is not a special order or discounted item and is in new condition with original packaging, you may return the product within 15 days of purchase. Check purchases will be refunded with a check by mail.


  • Any item that was special ordered, and not normally stocked at The Lighting Corner.
  • Special purchases, including: clearance items, inventory sale items, custom built items, etc.
  • Any item that has been assembled, installed (including cut or clipped wires), modified or used in any way.
  • Any item that is not in resalable condition.
  • Any item not accompanied by a receipt.
  • Any item that is not in the original box with original packaging materials.
  • Large orders: (Orders containing 10 or more of a single item or orders with an invoice total greater than $2,500). When ordering large quantities, we
  • suggest ordering a sample for evaluation.
  • Light bulbs, parts, and shades.
  • Any item not purchased from The Lighting Corner.
  • Shipping & handling charges.


In the event that you wish to return a non-defective and undamaged special order item, it must be within 15 days of purchase and a 30 percent (plus or minus depending upon the manufacturers policy) manufacturer’s restocking fee will be incurred.


Exchanges are not permitted after 15 days except in cases of freight damage or manufacturer defect, and then only for the term of the manufacturers warranty. No returns or exchanges on sale (discounted) items or special order items. Absolutely no exchanges on fixtures that have been installed. The item being returned must be returned to The Lighting Corner when the new product is picked up.

VERY IMPORTANT*** If the item to be returned will not be brought in until a later date, the new product must be paid for in full and a refund will be issued when you return the item you are not keeping.


We have taken great care to present all colors as true to actual color as possible. However, computer monitors vary widely and we cannot guarantee that the color you see accurately portrays the true color of any item.


We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information on our website. However, pricing errors may occur from time to time. We will correct any errors as soon we discover them. As a result, The Lighting Corner reserves the right to not sell any merchandise until an accurate price has been determined. Quoted prices are not guaranteed beyond 30 days.


If you would like to cancel an order that has not shipped from our store or the manufacturer, simply contact one of our sales associates at 616-534-8560. Then, we will submit a request to the manufacturer for cancellation. We will then contact you confirming the cancellation or stating that we were unable to cancel. Please allow up to 24 hours for confirmation of cancellation. Please be aware that some items may have already shipped from our store or the manufacturer and be in route for final delivery to you. In such a case, cancellation fees may apply.


Special order items may be back ordered by the manufacturer. Most will give us an approximate arrival date. Keep in mind if you are given a date, this is only an estimate by the manufacturer as to when the product may be arriving at their warehouse from the production company (possibly overseas) and is subject to any number of delays. If you are considering cancelling an order due to backorder, we recommend you first call our store to verify the accuracy of the date before making your final decision. There are times when manufacturers have stated items as backordered, only to find that they have already shipped or are going out the next day. On the other hand, if the item is truly unavailable for an extended period, we sincerely apologize for the delay. Your electrician can generally cap a hole, or install a temporary fixture to enable you to pass inspection. Please note that since a cancellation request is time sensitive, please do not email or leave voice messages regarding your intention as it may slow the process down.
